With equal parts toilet seat, suitcase and clam, the iBook had a funny sort of charm that did little to reflect the personality of the user (unless, of course, they happened to be running away with the circus). The iBook looked more like a Playskool product than a Cupertino one, especially when appearing on a shelf next to a Wall Street or Lombard PowerBook.

Welcome!

The iBook Clamshell was produced by Apple Computers from September 1999 until May 2001 in five colours and several configurations. Because of the distinctive design and relialble hardware components the original iBooks has still a lot of aficionados around the world - i am one of them.

I started this website in 2006 in german - my first language. When i noticed that a lot of people from anglophone counties came for a visit, i added english content - of course with faults and imperfections. Nevertheless you will find here the most comprehensive information concerning the Clamshell iBook  and a whole lot of tips and tricks to keep your iBook up and running.
