The leaf is missing

- Parent Category: FAQ
A common deficiency in used iBooks is the lack of the leaf near the large colored Apple on the top case. You will hardly notice when it gets lost.
I had a good looking Blueberry iBook, which i preperred for my brother-in-law, and just this little blue leaf was missing. When i was cleaning up my daughter's room i found a plastic pearl in a beautiful shade of blue. The pearl was melted with a small burner and the liquid settled easily into the hole, where it solidified again.
Clamshell brainteaser: Who is Robin?

- Parent Category: FAQ
One day when i tried to install a new hard drive in a graphite firewire clamshell, i found the word Robin punched into the heatsink. Maybe a clever sort of unique identification in case of theft? But over the years, i did find two other Robin heatsinks in Clamshells from different parts of the world. Who is Robin? Did you find other words - Lady Marian for example? What is it good for - any suggestions?

Keyboard mod: white vs. bronze
- Details
- Parent Category: FAQ
If you find the white keyboard a little boring, there is something you can do: get yourself a keyboard from a PowerBook Pismo. The bronze keyboard of the Clamshell's elder brother has exactly the same mechanical layout, only the connecting cable is different. For a switch you only have to remove the keycaps with leaving the mounting brackets in place. The keycaps of the PowerBook Lombard may work also, but i havn't got one of these, so you have to try yourself.
